I began painting animal faces on the fallen palm fronds I found on my "sanity walks" during the 2020 Quarantine. At first a craft to do with my kids, the art brought unexpected joy during a difficult time. Using these natural "canvases," recycled and second-hand art supplies, I hope to encourage the viewer to find surprising sources of inspiration and to connect with the beauty and meaning hidden in everyday encounters. Art takes courage, and it can give courage too. The lion is also the symbol of my Ukrainian hometown, Lviv.
