This painting is a portrait of a Sarah Bernhardt peony grown by Eagle Song Farms in Alaska. I first began painting florals during lockdown and found that I love exploring the detail of each petal as it combines with the adjoining petals to create an elaborate exhibition of color and movement. This piece is painted on Belgian linen.
