Being By Myself Div. V-H, Second place, Drawing

This piece was meant to emulate the discovery of self and identity through music and piano by experimenting with contrast and light. Alone at the piano, growing up, often I felt I was not in a room with the instrument but rather with my mind wherever it had wandered following the narrative of the music. Though the piano was black, I lightened the reflection in order to make it easier to see and used the principles of contrast and value to make the piano reflection the focal point.
