Dunes at Sunset Div. III, First place, Photography

Goal of Photo:
To capture a colorful sunset, going behind a mountain range, while capturing the barren, but alluring, dunes scenery.
Background:
While hiking in a USA National Park the critique suggestion came to mind.
After evaluating several potential sites, I settled on a place that had a view of multiple ridges of dunes and a mountain range in the background.
The plan was to return before sunset for a photo opt.
This photo was taken during that photo session.
A Surprise:
In my haste to set-up the camera gear, I didn’t notice the couple and their dog viewing the sunset too.
The incorporation of people and an animal into the photo was an unexpected bonus.
