I moved to South Texas from Colorado and I miss the snow. This cheeky little bird brought back so many happy memories. He just makes me smile. I had fun using the texture of the mat board to create the snowy background. I use pastels in my art classes to teach mixing and blending techniques which are also used with oils and acrylics. I love how the pastels blend and the feeling of going back to childhood and finger painting!
