I have long enjoyed watching these graceful birds moving through the fields. The medium of pastel captures the fine lines of feathers so well. I also enjoy the subtle blending I can do with this medium. I used a pink pastel paper so I could get the effect of sunlight through the thin feathering on the heads and necks. Capturing the graceful curves of the birds was very satisfying.
