A Cowboy Hello

This oil painting was done alla prima . During the painting session I caught a passing look of wry amusement on the model’s face and tried to capture it with my painting. It seemed a perfect example of typically understated expressiveness of our Texas cowboy and how one might say hello to a favored friend, perhaps female?
